Poetry

Poetry is one of the MOST important branch of literature. In poetry, some of the english words differs in spelling and pronunciation as to make the poem interesting and flow with the "sound" of the poem. There are different types of poems, and few examples are Ballad and Haiku. Both are my favorite type of poetry.
A ballad is a type of poetry that is often a narrative set to music. The four main themes of ballad is Love, Death, Nature and Courage. An example of a ballad:

O my Luve's like a red, red rose
That’s newly sprung in June;
O my Luve's like the melodie
That’s sweetly play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I:
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry:

Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun:
I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.

And fare thee weel, my only Luve
And fare thee weel, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho’ it were ten thousand mile.

A haiku is a form of Japanese poetry. Unfortunately, I can't describe a haiku (Sorry!), but I can give an example of a haiku:

古池や 蛙飛込む 水の音

Pronunciation:
fu-ru-i-ke ya
ka-wa-zu to-bi-ko-mu
mi-zu no o-to

Translation:
old pond . . .
a frog leaps in
water’s sound

I've been typing a lot! Anyways, till next time.......
